The Centre for Parliamentary Studies exists to promote effective policy making and good governance through better interaction between Parliament and other stakeholders in society.
In order to achieve this we organise a range of conferences that address current public policy issues in the UK and on the international stage. These conferences provide a forum for policy discussion, debate and networking. We also run a range of seminars that equip people with the essential skills to work in the world of Parliament and Government, and to develop and implement public policy more effectively.
As well as our training and events, we publish a monthly magazine that brings a unique and rounded perspective to the major issues of the day affecting good governance.
On Friday 23rd July, the BBC's 'Record Review' programme examined how well the Coalition Government is doing, and, critically, how long it can stay together. Keith Macdougall was joined in the studio by three experts:
Rt Hon John Bercow, MP,
Speaker of the House of Commons
‘New Parliament: New Opportunity’
The Speaker of the House of Commons recently delivered the Centre for Parliamentary Studies Annual Lecture, outlining his plans to revitalise the Chamber of the House of Commons and restore the good name of Parliament.
